Settling in at Mangrove Marina

Last week, we settled in at the dock at Mangrove Marina, in Tavernier (just south of Key Largo).  This will be our home for a while.   We're tied up and plugged in to power and water, and if we had a TV, we'd even have cable (that's on the list in the near future).  Saving up some dough now for a class for the Captain's license in early October.
Our new home

We have a family of manatees that live here in the harbor.  It is illegal to feed them, but they love fresh water!

Some of the residents maintain a lovely little garden, right next to the tiki hut.  I've pulled a few weeds, just to remind myself what it was like!  Check out this cool cactus flower.

Another baracuda, darn it!

And, of course, more spectacular sunsets.

This is the baby, son of "Captain Blyth".

Had a cookout at the tiki hut at the end of our dock with our new neighbors.  We hang out here a lot in the evenings.

One of Tom's oldest friends, Cliff, brought his friend, Bev, down for a couple of days.

Of course, all guests must participate in at least one firing of the cannon!

Watched the Colts Monday Night Game at the 'OV' (Ocean View Inn), a very popular spot for the local folk.  If you look really hard, you can see our boat in the harbor behind us, back in the corner under the palm tree.  We were about the only Colts fans there, of course.  The victory was sweet!

And rainbows too!  (Where's my pot of gold? I guess I'm living on it...)
